The impact of updated Page timeline design on Fan Gates
Facebook page have been redesigned in June 2014 – we’re not speaking of a revolution & nothing really fundamental changed. I’ll send you to the excellent article from Buffer to learn in details what impact have those changes on your content strategy.
However, there’s apparently one small changes that hasn’t been taken into account by everyone yet. : the position of the “Like” button..
It has a real impact on an important feature of our Facebook campaigns : The Fan Gate.
The below picture states it clearly, it is mandatory to edit your templates & “move” the arrow to the left, with a margin of +/- 250px.
Why an arrow? To be as direct as possible in a Fan Gate : the visitor should immediately understand what he has to do to enter the game. Don’t put too much content, a short text & an arrow are enough to convert.
